VPN-1/FireWall-1 Management I - NG is an introductory course for Check Point's flagship product, VPN-1/FireWall-1 NG. This course covers the basic steps involved in configuring an Internet firewall, and provides hands-on training to manage a FireWall-1 installation. In addition, new capabilities in the Next Generation (NG) version of VPN-1/FireWall-1 are highlighted.

- Systems administrators, security managers, and network engineers who manage VPN-1/FireWall-1 Gateway deployments, and individuals seeking the Check Point Certified Security Administrator (CCSA) NG certification.

- VPN-1/FireWall-1 architecture and how to deploy its various modules and components
- How to define a security policy using the VPN-1/FireWall-1 Security Dashboard, incorporating the SmartMap
- How to deploy and manage distributed security gateways using Check Point's SmartUpdate and Secure Internal Communications (SIC) capabilities
- How to administer and troubleshoot VPN-1/FireWall-1 security policies
- How to implement network address translation (NAT)
- How to set up user authentication in a VPN-1/FireWall-1 environment
In the labs, you will gain hands-on experience in:
- Defining FireWall-1 objects and users
- Establishing basic VPN-1/FireWall-1 security policies
- Setting up user authentication
- Configuring NAT (Static NAT and Hide NAT)
